FMC Introduces Transport® Mikron™ Insecticide
Advanced liquid formulation offers enhanced performance and application benefits
PHILADELPHIA, October 2010 – A new, highly advanced, non-repellent liquid insecticide formulation is now available from FMC Professional Solutions, a business unit of FMC Corporation (NYSE: FMC). Transport® Mikron™ insecticide provides fast-acting, long-lasting control of bed bugs, ants, crickets and more than 30 other pests, including pyrethroid-resistant pests.
A combination of acetamiprid and bifenthrin, the same trusted active ingredient found in Talstar®, Transport Mikron delivers residual protection lasting up to 90 days or longer, depending on the pest. The new liquid product achieves knockdown faster than competitive products, often attaining 100 percent control within just 24 hours after treatment.
“Transport Mikron’s smaller particle size allows the active ingredients to quickly and easily penetrate an insect’s cuticle, delivering fast knockdown,” said Chris Bowley, product manager for FMC Professional Solutions. “In addition, Transport Mikron
is an extremely stable formulation which remains in suspension without the need for constant agitation, even after extended periods of non-use.”
The solution stability of Mikron ensures that PMPs deliver the same concentration of active ingredient from the first application to the last. This even dispersion also ensures uniform distribution of material on every square inch of application surface. In addition, Transport Mikron is a clear formulation, which does not stain or leave a messy residue.
Applied indoors as a spot, crack-and-crevice, pinstream, coarse or low pressure spray treatment, Transport Mikron can also be applied outdoors as a pinstream, spot, crack-and-crevice or perimeter spray. Transport Mikron can be applied up to 10 feet out from the foundation and three feet up on structures, allowing for broader coverage and fewer gaps in treatment than some competitive products. Additionally, Transport Mikron has no restrictions on the number of treatments per year.
Termite Treatments:
Extremely effective against all three genera of termites, Reticulitermes, Heterotermes and Coptotermes, Transport Mikron delivers impressive performance even in seriously infested structures. With its improved knockdown speed, lasting residual and good resistance management properties, Transport Mikron often eliminates all termite activity within 30 days of application. In addition, the product works extremely well in large spray rigs, including those with in-line dosing systems.
