Onyx® insecticide. Protects Trees from Borers and Beetles

Bark beetles and borers are among the most devastating and difficult
to manage of all insects that arborists and landscape care
professionals confront. These pests can kill trees that are expensive
both to remove and to replace. To make matters worse, several
organophosphates traditionally used to control these pests have been
removed from the market.
Fortunately, Onyx insecticide provides reliable long-term control of
these damaging pests. To protect trees from damage, apply Onyx
insecticide as a preventive treatment, prior to adult flight. Spray the
tree with a hydraulic sprayer as directed on the label for consistent
control of the target pest.

In a 2002 Clemson Forest trial, Onyx
insecticide protected these trees against Turpentine and Southern Pine
Beetles, as this photo dramatically demonstrates.

Use Onyx insecticide for borer and beetle control.
Onyx works best when applied preventively, before adult beetles have
attacked the tree. Flight timing can vary due to environmental factors.
It is recommended to apply Onyx insecticide 1 to 2 months prior to
expected adult beetle flight.
Always make applications before expected first flights. Due to
regional and local factors always consult your local county or state
extension specialist for specific recommendations!
