FirstLine® GT Plus Termite Bait Field Trials in Louisiana

Results of LA Termite Bait Field Studies

• A pest management company evaluated termite baiting over 1 year at 10 structures in Baton Rouge, LA.
• Five structures had active termite infestations (remedial).
• Five structures had no activity but there were termites within 25 ft. (preventative).
• A private PMP used FMC’s SMARTDISC™ Locators and Monitors to detect and locate termite activity around the exterior of the homes. When they located activity, they replaced the monitors with various FirstLine® Termite Bait Stations in or near the same location. In some instances, baits were used in the original installation.
• No liquid products were used in this study.
• In all but two cases, termite activity stopped.

Conclusions

• FirstLine Termite Bait alone can provide structural protection.
• After one year, all five preventative structures no longer had activity at stations.
• After one year, 3 out of 5 remedial structures no longer had active termite infestations.
• Some termite populations may take longer than one year to achieve control.
• Structures must be continually monitored because termites may attack again.
